Counseling
and Guidance
The school psychologist works with individual students and
small groups to identify and address self-confidence, self-esteem, and social
issues. Also, upper school students and
their families work with the guidance director to develop plans
for transitioning to the community after graduation.

Communication
Therapy
Here, technology and training come together to help children communicate effectively.
Students who are nonverbal may learn to use augmentative communication systems,
ranging from simple picture boards to personal speaking devices. Others develop
language skills by discussing current events or writing a sequel to a favorite
story.
